International Coatings is changing its safety reporting and product labeling in order to comply with OSHA’s new GHS (Global Harmonized System) regulations. GHS is a new system for standardizing and harmonizing the classification and labelling of chemicals. International Coatings is shifting from the SDS (Safety Data Sheet) classification system to the GHS SDS (Safety Data Sheet) system. Our new labels will comply with GHS safety disclosure and pictogram requirements.
Please note that there is a significant difference between the new GHS and the previously established HMIS and NFPA hazard classification systems.
International Coatings will have new SDS sheets available for all of our products. The GHS standard requires us to create detailed SDS per product or for narrow similar product groupings (unlike the larger SDS groupings previously allowed).
