Which emulsion is the right one for the type of ink you are using? John Levocz's recent printing tip published in Impressions Magazine clarifies: This sounds like a pretty basic topic, but many screen printers may not know that different emulsions must be used for plastisol or water-based inks. If you are using a water-based ink, make sure that the emulsion is also water-resistant. Otherwise, it will start to gum up or break down. Water-resistant emulsion is designed to withstand the water in the ink and won’t break down, so choose your emulsion correctly the first time!
